The objective of NEPTUNUS was to provide a sustainable autonomous research platform for serious annual green algae eutrophication in South Korean rivers. 
Due to financial issues and lack of human resources, the current governmental system faced many limitations on creating an efficient research. Focusing on this social issue, four college students gathered to develop an amphibian remote controlled robot. 
The team won the Superior Research Award for the 2016 Seoul National University Undergraduate Research Program and 3rd place in 2016 Korean Institute of Power Electronics Annual Conference.
